how to become tab certified

Print out the TAB Standards and Application and read them thoroughly.  Complete the application and gather supporting documentation to send to ITI.

1.   You must have two years of experience or have completed  an ITI approved class to be eligible for approval.

2.    ITI will review your application and notify you of acceptance or other status.

3.    When you are ready to take the written tests, contact the ITI or JATC coordinator to schedule a test.

  1. Tests can be taken traditionally or online.
  2. All tests must be proctored.

4.    After successful completion of the written tests, you are eligible to take the performance tests.

5.    Performance tests are held at ITI's certified testing labs.

  1. Each testing session is proceeded by a one-day seminar
  2. Each test is one full day in length (air & hydronic).

6.    At the successful completion of the Performance Test, you are granted certification.

  1. You are issued a photo ID card and certificate.

7.    You must renew your certification every two years.
