TABB Offers Variety to ASHRAE Members Attending 2004 AHR Expo
ASHRAE's AHR Expo is always a spectacular display of union and industry innovation and resourcefulness. Last year, TABB's popular exhibit featured two working duct systems: one to be leak tested and the other to be tested, adjusted and balanced by engineers attending the expo.
Water Board and Bubble Machine Visit
This year, TABB is going to feature a Water Board at their exhibit booth, 8146. TABB's Assistant Director of Certification, John Hamilton, will show attendees this amazing process throughout the event. Over at SMWIA booth, Gary Andis (TABB's Director of Education) will be exhibiting the bubble machine with the help of John Chrisite, TABB's first Hall of Fame honoree. Drop by the booth to visually observe actual airflow applications of various duct fittings, take-offs, branches, splitter dampers to see actual
loss coefficient results. Both exhibits will show attendees what actually happens "behind the scenes". This gives engineers the opportunity to see how the process works and perform the tasks themselves.
TABB's Hospitality Suite at the Hilton, Tues. Jan 27th
Don't miss out on TABB's hospitality! Come by anytime --- between the hours of 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. The morning hours will feature breakfast items and morning snacks. Lunch will be offered at noon, followed by afternoon treats. At 5:00 p.m. - get ready to attend the reception! Throughout the day, material will be presented to showcase TABB and what it could mean for you! The first 1000 visitors to the Hospitality Room (Carmel Room of the Hilton Anaheim) will be rewarded with a free copy of the SMACNA TAB manual!
Remember, last year's duct system display demonstrated leak-testing apparatus and proportional balancing - an interesting subject for engineers. The engineers had an opportunity to see how the duct is constructed, what the gauges should read, how to properly adjust the dampers, and where they should be set to achieve energy savings and good indoor air quality.
The TABB Duct Leak display was also used at the 2003 Infrastructure Systems Conference sponsored by the US Army Corps of Engineers from May 6-8, 2003 at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. More than 1000 selected electrical, mechanical, structural, security, construction, specifications, dam safety and geotechnical engineers represented the military and civil works functions of the Corps of Engineers, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and other Federal and Non-Federal agencies worldwide.
