New Mexico Independent Balancing Contractor Joins the Elite
The Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Bureau (TABB) has announced its first certification of a New Mexico contractor. Alan F. Weitzel and Energy Balance, Inc. were formally certified at an event at Local Union 49 of the Sheet Metal Workers' International Association. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the labor, management and engineering community. The certification is part of TABB's national campaign to certify all air balance contractors. As a TABB-Certified contractor, Energy Balance, Inc. assures its customers that their ventilation systems are operating according to the originally designed specifications. This guarantee dramatically lessens the chances of indoor air quality and energy efficiency problems in the buildings. Dave McCoy, speaking for the New Mexico Sheet Metal Contractors' Association, said "We are extremely pleased and excited that one of our members, Energy Balance, Inc., has become New Mexico's first TABB-Certified test and balance company. We are also delighted that there are two TABB-Certified technicians working for Energy Balance, ensuring that its customers will get the professional service they expect." The employees and HVAC professionals at Intel Corporation will be particularly affected, as they will reap the benefits of having Energy Balance's TABB-Certified supervisors and technicians perform complex testing, adjusting, and balancing of the HVAC systems in Intel's Rio Rancho office. "It is my hope that other air balancing contractors, technicians, and supervisors become TABB-Certified in New Mexico and across North America," said Jack Webster, TABB's Director of Certification. "We need to raise the bar across the country when it comes to quality assured testing, adjusting, and balancing."
